I have found a procedure which would describe the process
of moving our current stand-alone DFS structure to a
domain-based DFS structure. Can i just backup our
current configuration, create a new domain-based
structure, and then restore the original configuration on
the new dfs server? If this is not a viable solution, is
there another way or do i need to just recreate the whole
dfs structure.

Thanks in advance
Jeff

This is severe overkill, but what the heck, you asked...

One of the unique capabilities of StorageX (www.nuview.com) is that it can:

1) Backup a dfs root structure for later recovery (any type of root to any
type)
2) Actively keep 2 dfs structures in sync. Its like replication for the dfs
structure itself. Again, this can be between any combination of root types.
We use it in-house to keep our domain-based and a standalone root synched.

Commercial over. But you did ask and it will do it.
