Does the share limitation of 10 connections occur if DFS is used to connect
to a windows 2003 web edition or windows xp pro share? In other words, does
the dfs share handle the request or does the share on the individual system?
I want to be able to connect more than 10 users at a time and thought that
this might be a good workaround.

The share on the individual system. The DFS share just points the client to
that machine; it does not do the I/O on behalf of the client.
