Has anyone gotten DFS replication to work correctly? What are the
guidelines?
Here's my scenario:
* Windows 2000 domain
* 2 Windows 2003 servers need to replicate data
* Created a DFS root on a DC and set a link to each of the W2k3
servers and configured replication.
My experience:
* Some things replicate
* Others do not
- some of these due to sharing errors which is understandable --
tried setting override option, but it didn't seem to have an effect
- others are not locked, but still do not replicate
* The dfs-staging is growing on both servers. For troubleshooting
purpose I have set 'everyone' to full NTFS and share permissions on
both replicas -- seemed to have no effect.
* No errors in the event log.
Is it that this technology just doesn't work?
Is it the fact that I am trying to do this on W2k3 in a w2k
environment?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
